Who I am
About
I'm João Ferro, a Cybersecurity Analyst and Software Engineer, currently working at Worten based in Lisbon, Portugal. My work sits at the intersection of security engineering and the whole development pipeline — I build tools (a lot, not all get finished, as most developers may relate) and investigate security threats. The whole spectrum of cybersecurity fascinates me, from the technical intricacies of red teaming all the way to the robust defensive systems to detect attacks (I am still finding myself in this field and I am loving the journey!).
Day-to-day I handle some SOC alerts, vulnerability management, and develop (most of my time). I really like tinkering with systems and find that hands-on maintaining a personal security lab and experimenting with infrastructure, containerization, and network security enables me to learn a lot and fast. For me, I would say that after security the aspect I care about the most is Performance.
